مهرجان مالمو يكرم المخرج خيري بشارة ويعلن عن لجان تحكيم دورته الرابعة عشر.

علق برهوم على اختياره في لجنة تحكيم الأفلام القصيرة قائلاً: “بصفتي ممثلاً، عرفت مهرجان مالمو للسينما العربية منذ سنوات عديدة وشهدت تطوره، بفضل قيادة فريق متخصص، ليصبح منصة فريدة تدعم صانعي الأفلام العرب. يوفر هذا المهرجان مساحة تمكن صانعي الأفلام من التواصل لتعزيز صوتهم الإبداعي. أنا فخور بأن أكون جزءًا من هذا المهرجان القيم في هذه المرحلة، وأعتقد أن العديد من النجاحات المستقبلية ما زالت قادمة

The Malmo Festival honors director Khairy Beshara and announces the juries for its fourteenth edition.

Malmö Arab Film Festival announced the honoring of the prominent Egyptian director Khairy Beshara for his body of work. The tribute will take place during the opening ceremony of the fourteenth edition, scheduled to be held between April 22nd and 28th in the city of Malmö, Sweden. Additionally, the festival selected Beshara to chair the jury for the feature films.

Khairy Beshara, a prominent Egyptian filmmaker, has been active in redefining realism in Egyptian cinema. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1967 and received a two-year scholarship in Poland. He has produced numerous narrative and documentary films that have won several awards, including “The Collar and the Bracelet,” “A Day Like Any Other,” and “Ice Cream in Gleem.” He is considered one of the pioneers of digital filmmaking in the Arab world and has directed three musical plays. His first novel, “Chinese Pride,” was published in 2023, and he is currently working on its adaptation into a film.

Beshara commented on this honor from the festival, saying, “First, I want to thank the Malmö Arab Film Festival for inviting me to this lovely event and for recognizing my work in a journey that, to me, is not a job. This journey is a lifetime of love, passion, friendships, hardships and challenges, but also pleasure, victory, and discovery of myself and the world around me.”

Barhom commented on his selection for the short films jury, saying, ‘As an actor, I have noticed the MAFF for many years and witnessed its progression, led by a dedicated team, into becoming a unique platform supporting Arab filmmakers. Such a festival provides a space where filmmakers can connect to enhance their creative voice.
